Now I am just exhausted after all of that oven cleaning yesterday..even if it was only in my own mind..really takes it out of me. I think I will leave the fridge for another day, it is all too much for me today.
So I think it might be time to sit back and enjoy a nice cup of tea. I am quite fond of a good cup of tea but it has to be Earl Grey for me. I went all arty-farty once and decided that I would try some of the way out types of tea that seem to be popping up in my local supermarket. It all started out very nicely and all refined with my lovely china cup and saucer and some quite tasty fruit flavoured teas that I have to admit were quite nice but not really my ummm 'cup of tea.'
I should have stopped there really but no you know me (well you are starting to) of course I just had to take it that one step further..and decided to try Lapsang souchong. This is a black tea from China. Friends had tasted it and were telling me it was something I should try too so I did. I probably should have taken more notice when I read on the packaging that this variety of tea generally produces a strong reaction - with most reviews extremely positive or strongly negative. But of course I overlooked all of that and ploughed on regardless.
Let this be a BIG..VERY BIG warning to you...this tea tastes and smells like burning tyres or that stench that you get when they are re-tarring your roads. The dogs were howling, the cats yowling, the goats mehing, the cow mooing, the chickens lying on their backs with their legs in the air and me..ME I was hyperventilating and gagging..if you can do both at the same time. My GOD this stuff was hideous I have tasted better poisons in my time ( a whole other story) but seriously if you are ever tempted to imbibe in this rot gut...my advice for you is simple DON'T! Hmmm maybe it is an acquired taste but I think you should acquire a peg and put it on your nose first if you really feel like you have to experience this at least once in your life.
